Ancient treasures and sea breeze made the perfect Egypt combo 🌊📚 We truly didn’t expect to fall in love with Alexandria this fast. The sea air, the grand Citadel of Qaitbay, and the fascinating mix of Greco-Roman heritage blew us away. Standing beneath Pompey’s Pillar with the sun behind it was like stepping into a postcard. The van was air-conditioned and felt luxurious after the port. We got to explore deeply but at a relaxed pace. The catacombs were surprisingly well-preserved and very atmospheric!
This tour gave me a great sense of how cosmopolitan ancient Alexandria was. I particularly enjoyed our time in the reconstructed Bibliotheca Alexandrina – the scale and design were mind-blowing. The Kom Al Shoqafa catacombs were eerie in a thrilling way, and walking around the citadel felt like standing in a pirate movie. Everything was on time, and the vehicle was very clean.
We took a break from the ship and it was so worth it. The Kom Al Shoqafa catacombs were surprisingly deep and complex – almost like an ancient underground palace. Qaitbay Citadel gave us some great photo ops, and the guide helped us imagine how the city once looked. The ride was smooth and the AC was a life-saver. Bibliotheca Alexandrina is a brilliant mix of old soul and modern tech.
If you enjoy history and beautiful architecture, this is the perfect day trip. Creepy but awesome! The tombs had carvings and artifacts that looked untouched by time. I loved that we could actually walk down into the site and feel the atmosphere. The rest of the trip was packed with stories – the new library, the citadel, the pillar. Alexandria had layers of surprises. Comfortable bus and smart itinerary.
